Hofseth has held a central position in Norwegian and international jazz since the late 1980s, including through his membership in Mike Mainieri's legendary band Steps Ahead and through a long series of his own releases. Bendik made his solo debut in 1991 with the pop album IX , which in 2013 was named one of the best Norwegian albums of all time in Morgenbladet's top 100 poll.
He toured at the time with his then unknown band, consisting of Paolo Vinaccia, Øystein Sevåg, Eivind Aarset, Knut Reiersrud, Audun Erlien and Reidar Skår. To this day, many believe this was one of the greatest things that has ever happened on a Norwegian stage. Paolo is unfortunately not with us this evening, but is replaced by Audun Kleive, and the rest of the band is performing for a rare reunion.
